Apostasy and Heresy
hellfall_01.gif

Literally, a theological dissension or division arising from diversity of opinions and aims. The term is usually reserved to refer to false teachings considered so serious that belief in them excludes the followers from the true faith and salvation; in other words, a belief viewed as fatal to the gospel. Religious groups founded on the basis of heresy are known as Christian cults.

These articles expose the false teachings, heresy and doctrines that have infiltrated the church since the beginning of Christianity. We also bring to your attention many of today's churches who claim to be Christian but teach a gospel that was not  taught by Jesus or uses biblical text taken out of context..

  • Arianism  ( 2 items )
Arianism was a 4th-century Christian heresy named for Arius (c.250-c.336), a priest in Alexandria. Arius denied the full deity of the preexistent Son of God who became incarnate in Jesus Christ. He held that the Son, while divine and like God ("of like substance"), was created by God as the agent through whom he created the universe. Arius said of the Son, "there was a time when he was not." Arianism became so widespread in the Christian church and resulted in such disunity that the emperor Constantine convoked a church council at Nicaea in 325 (see Councils of Nicaea).
